Yearly on February 02
On February 2, 2016 at 3:28 pm, a tornado roared through Collinsville and shattered our campus. Nearby homes were damaged and some were completely destroyed, trees were uprooted and power lines were down, but the community came together and selflessly helped one another. All three of our buildings sustained heavy damage and were declared a total loss.
Media coverage brought national attention to our situation, and many people asked why God would allow this devastation to happen to His church. Through these questions, we have been able to share how big our God is and how our faith is being strengthened as we walk with Him through this storm. As we began meeting in various places throughout Collinsville, we experienced what is meant by, “the church is more than a building.”
Our new facility was completed in March 2018, but our journey is far from over. Going forward, we will continue to deepen our faith in God and our love for one another - not just within our congregation, but with the community as a whole - so we can truly become One Body with One Purpose.
